This Privacy Policy explains how Guardians Lighthouse, LLC ("we," "us") collects, uses, discloses, and protects information when you use our Platform. By using the Platform, you agree to this Policy.
1. Information We Collect
Information you provide
- Account data: name or display name, email address, password.
- Provider applications and listings: practice or organization name, category, contact name, email, phone, website, address, service details, and any other information submitted in a provider application or listing.
- Family signup requests: your name, email address, ZIP code or area, and anything you tell us about the support you are looking for when you ask for early access.
- Provider nominations: the provider or organization details you submit, plus your own name and email so we can confirm the nomination and follow up if needed. We do not tell a nominated provider who nominated them.
- Reviews and content: ratings, written reviews, and other user submissions.
- Communications: messages you send to us through support, email, or forms.
- Contact form submissions: your name, email address, the topic you select, your message, and any structured answers you provide (for example the page affected, steps to reproduce a problem, assistive technology in use, or a correction you are reporting). When you report a website or accessibility problem, we also record the page URL, your browser user agent, and the referring page so we can reproduce and fix the issue. We do not record these technical details for other contact topics, and we never store your IP address for contact submissions — abuse limits use a one-way, salted hash that cannot be reversed.
Information collected automatically
- Usage data: pages viewed, searches, clicks, referring URLs, timestamps.
- Device data: IP address, browser type, operating system, device identifiers.
- Email delivery records: for each message we send you, we log the message type, recipient address, related record identifier, and the time and outcome of the attempt (see Section 3).
- Cookies and similar technologies (see Section 5).
Information from third parties
- OAuth providers (e.g., Google): name and email when you choose to sign in with them.
- Other families: if someone nominates your practice or organization, we receive the provider-side details they submitted about you.
2. How We Use Information
- Operate, maintain, and improve the Platform.
- Create and manage your account and your listing or signup request.
- Review, approve, request changes to, or decline provider applications.
- Display directory listings, reviews, and search results to authorized members.
- Send the account, application-status, and administrative messages described in Section 3.
- Analyze usage and improve performance and content.
- Comply with legal obligations, prevent abuse, and enforce our Terms.
3. Email We Send and Email Records
We send transactional email — confirmations, application-status updates, sign-in links, and administrative notices — from our own verified sending domain. For each message we keep a record of the message type, the recipient address, the related record identifier, and the timestamp and outcome of the attempt. These records let us confirm delivery, avoid sending the same message twice, and troubleshoot problems.
If you unsubscribe using the link in one of our emails, or if a message to your address bounces or is reported as spam, we add that email address to a suppression list and stop sending messages to it. This suppression is applied to the address itself, so it also stops confirmations and application-status messages that you may otherwise want to receive. If you unsubscribe and later need those messages, contact info@guardianslighthouse.com.
We do not currently process payments and we do not collect or store payment card information.
4. Google Maps Integration
Provider profiles may embed maps and location features powered by Google Maps Platform. When a map loads, Google may collect information such as your IP address, approximate location, and interaction with the map, governed by Google's privacy policy (policies.google.com/privacy) and the Google Maps Additional Terms of Service. Use of embedded maps constitutes your acceptance of those terms.
5. Cookies and Tracking
We and our service providers use cookies and similar technologies for:
- Strictly necessary functions (authentication, session, security).
- Preferences (remembering settings such as theme).
- Analytics (understanding aggregate usage to improve the Platform).
You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling strictly necessary cookies may prevent parts of the Platform from working correctly.
6. How We Share Information
- Directory listings and reviews are shown to authorized members of the Platform according to your listing choices; the directory is not open to the general public.
- Service providers who help us operate the Platform (hosting, database, email delivery, analytics) under contractual confidentiality obligations.
- Legal and safety disclosures when required by law, subpoena, or to protect rights, safety, or property.
- Business transfers in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
We do not sell your personal information for monetary consideration.
7. Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as needed to provide the Platform, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Published reviews may remain on the Platform after account deletion in anonymized or attributed form unless removal is required by law. Contact form submissions are retained while we work on your request and for a reasonable period afterward for support history, accessibility and bug tracking, and abuse prevention; abuse-prevention hashes expire automatically within minutes.
8. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Access, correct, or update your information.
- Request deletion of your account and personal data ("right to be forgotten").
- Object to or restrict certain processing.
- Receive a portable copy of your data.
- Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
- Lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
To exercise any right, email info@guardianslighthouse.com. We will respond within the time required by applicable law.
10. Children
The Platform is intended for adults (parents, caregivers, and providers). It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
11. International Users
The Platform is operated from the United States. If you access it from outside the U.S., you consent to the transfer and processing of your information in the U.S., which may have different data-protection laws than your country.
